The four years of our high school experience could be the best or the worst years of our life. No matter if your experience was good or bad, we all went through challenging phases where we questioned ourselves, “is this even worth it”? Throughout the course of them four years anxiety played a big part in the lives of teenagers like dealing with schoolwork, sports, having a job, relationships and friendships could easily increase your stress.
Even though anxiety is an important symptom, it’s normal to go through it in your life. It’s also important you overcome it by taking deep breaths whenever you feel overwhelmed. Maintaining good grades can be the number one stress when you’re in high school, especially if you’re in the 11th or 12th grade because colleges start looking at your performance around that time. In fact, the anxiety level in 2013-2014 for high schoolers were the same level of stress for insane asylum patients in the 1950’s. Here are a couple ways you can get rid your anxiety and stressful feelings:
- Relaxing-Stop for a moment, listen to music, take a walk, talk to a friend, do whatever you need to do to clear your mind.
2. Eat healthy meals-Don’t skip any meals also keep healthy snacks with you.
3. Be well rested-Get enough sleep before school so you can have enough energy to get through the day.
4. By taking these few steps, you should feel much better with trying to cope with your anxiety and stress.
