There is an old African proverb that states “by yourself you can go fast, together we can go far.” The average person will get easily excited about their new idea or business venture but could eventually lose steam, or a life circumstance will happen that will throw them off track-even just temporarily. Life happens. It’s bound to. When life happens, it is beneficial to have someone there that can encourage you and help to get you back on track. Of course there are times that you will want to work by yourself on a project. And that’s fine. But think about something that you may not be able to accomplish on your own-or at least it will take a long time. Would it not have been beneficial to have another person there for you if you lose steam? Like going to the gym. I would be more likely to maintain an exercise regime with a friend to motivate me because I lack motivation in things that don’t interest me.
Gem-N-Me is working hard to help young girls with their goals and feeling empowered. We want our girls to know that even though one girl can make a difference, an army of us can change the world. Strength in numbers is a collaborative effort. When you are a part of a team you are trying to come together to outsmart the others for a common goal and strength in numbers is key. As we continue to collaborate with one another we are strengthening our abilities to reach a larger group of people. Leading girls to understand the importance of working with others is way to show them collectively how they can make a
change and why that’s more than enough. That’s why Gem-N-Me strives to empower and help girls see the potential in something they have never seen before. We will continue to bring girls and women together to share, learn, and support each other, empowering them to take more control over their own lives and it must start early. You get good vibes and feelings around the people you can rely on. What doesn’t kill you will make you stronger as they say and being amongst a group of powerful women and girls will mentally prepare you to take on life’s toughest problems.
Every now and then as a new and inexperienced entrepreneur, one of my go to resources is Black Enterprise’s Women of Power. This online site is great motivation for me and my business. There are shared stories from lifestyle to career that can help motivate you, help you to be open to change, and even just finding those dynamic people that can push you farther and encourage you to be your best. This is so helpful as I gather needed information that is useful and share things among the women and girls I work with to strengthen our abilities to become a better business leaders.
This month the gem is blue lace agate for unity. A calming stone that engenders tranquility and grace. Blue lace agate brings with this calm and tranquility a lessening of anger, even deep anger issues, and a calming of nervousness. It is even considered a happiness stone from these harmonious energies it carries, as well as one of hope. Even looking at the gemstone itself, the blue and white flow together and creates something more beautiful than they would be able to create themselves.
